Services and Fees

As a Companion Animal End of Life Doula, I provide an additional layer of nonmedical support, advocacy and education to a client or family. I am independent, insured, self-employed, and work for the client or family, not a specific hospice, palliative care service or animal hospital. I do not practice under any medical licenses.

Specific Services Offered: 

  • Provide non-medical, unconditionally positive emotional support through the animal’s end of life process
  • Promote informed consent, educating when necessary to ensure the client has all relevant information to make the best decision
  • Assist client with developing their goals for medical care and aftercare
  • Companion and empower the client to act within their comfort zone throughout the hospice/end-of-life process
  • Providing emotional support holding space for the client and their companion animal
  • Offer spiritual support including but not limited to: rituals, candles, crystals
  • Guiding client in deciding upon after-death care and disposition of remains
  • Assisting client with after death honoring and remembrance(s) if desired
  • Provide a continued presence (when requested) during the euthanasia procedure and/or the initial bereavement period

Fees:

Introductory 30 Minute Session:  no fee 
Initial Consultation:  $50 (up to 3 hours)                
Hourly Rate:  $25/hour for phone calls, video chats, scheduled online conferencing, or home visits                              

A sliding scale based on services provided & ability to pay is available for clients facing financial difficulties. Please notify the Doula of your interest in sliding scale payment during the introductory session.
